Welkom would be more appropriate ! So welkom on our blog where we'll try to speak about the residents of Breda, their habits and also, about The Netherlands in general : the culture, the food, the sport, the transport, the interesting websites, the student life... and other topics.
So, for three months (from February to May) we will live in Breda : distant about 30 minutes from Rotterdam, 1h30 from Amsterdam, 2h from the sea, but also 2 hours from Brussels and Lille. Breda is located in southern Netherlands (NL for intimate).
Breda is a Dutch town in the Noord-Bradant, at the confluence of the Aa and Mark (a flowing rivers in Belgium and Netherlands). There are around 175 000 inhabitants in the city.
A majority of Dutchman speak dutch even if the most of the population is able to speak in English. In fact, there are a lot of bilingual people and in the north of the country, some people are able to speak frisian languages.
Breda is a very cultural city : there are a lot of multicural side and many monuments that you can visit : the Chassé Theater, the Grote Markt with the cathedral, the parc Valkenberg or go to see the NAC play a game .
